The classic spy riff. This one sounds nice played very close to the bridge.

This dark and spooky quote comes from Grieg's 'In the Hall of the Mountain King.
You can work it over Gm or G (will clash a little over a G major chord but if you're simply using it as a quick, amusing quote it can work).

This is a quote from 'Entrance of the Gladiators' by Czeck composer Julius Fučík. The piece is commonly used for circus music and the entrance of clowns.

Daytripper again but in the key of G (for 'taking the easy way out')

Say you've got a atune that jumps from G to C to G to D ('Boil The Cabbage Down' maybe?) and you want to throw in a recognizable quote for a few laughs. Try the old classic 'Brown Eyed Girl' riff.

D Lick #16
A bit like a lick Scruggs uses in 'Don't Get Above Your Raisin' this one is effective at midtempos.

I like this type of lick with the chromatic movement skippin up to the higher string.
This one moves up from a D to a G.

One from up in the middle of the neck. I find a little choke can add a touch of character.
